wordpress native commenting livefyre disqus

When choosing a commenting system for your blog, there are some fancy alternatives to WordPress’s native commenting system. When you look at some of the top blogs out there, the majority are using either Disqus or Livefyre. These boast features like social media login, related post syndication, or incorporating social media conversations into the comment stream. They promise real-time conversations, streamlined moderation functionality, and better spam filtering.

But the truth is that WordPress’s native commenting system just might be the best option. I have had both Disqus and Livefyre installed on this blog, each for a significant amount of time. The other day, I uninstalled Livefyre and decided to do away with these 3rd party commenting systems for good.

What Are Backlinks?

Backlinks, also known as inbound links or incoming links, are links from other websites to your website. Getting more backlinks to your site is an off-page SEO strategy that will help you rise in the search engine rankings, as opposed to on-page SEO — things like editing your title tag, meta description, etc. so that Google knows what keywords to index your blog posts for.

When you optimize your on-page SEO elements, it helps Google understand what your blog post is all about. Google then indexes your post in its search engine with the keywords used on that post.

Fill In The Blank Blog Post Titles

Brainstorming new blog post ideas is easier than you think it is. The problem is that most bloggers are so focused on creating an awesome blog post title, that they can’t think of a topic they actually want to write about. And staring at a blank screen is the hardest part of getting started.

Don’t get me wrong, creating an enticing post title is extremely important. In fact, it’s the most important part of any blog post, because without it, nobody will click the link in Google or on social media sites, it won’t get shared, and you won’t get traffic.

Increase Online Sales

Sales is the number one challenge the majority of online businesses face, and it’s the top reasons most businesses fail. Ultimately, most businesses are created to make profits, but without sales there can’t be profits.

Unfortunately, a lot of businesses and bloggers are under the impression that what is required to make more sales and profit is to increase their marketing budget. That can’t be farther from the truth! According to data from the Startup Genome Project, one of the top reasons businesses fail is because they spend too much on customer acquisition without optimizing their funnels to effectively convert these customers.

Is Your Website Designed to Convert?

Is your website designed to convert?

For any business, big or small, a website is the most essential asset. Having a website for your business is so effective that even if you are an offline business, your website acts as a medium of engagement. It’s a tool to reach more people in a cheap and convenient way while conveying what your business is all about. This, I believe, is the most basic and vital part of business marketing.

So let’s say you’ve done your homework. You followed all the steps necessary — from tweeting, getting Facebook likes, etc. And you also used other marketing strategies to get more people to visit your site, which you believe is the most important aspect. But wait… is it really the most important aspect?

reject guest blog post

Guest blogging is great for search engine optimization (SEO), building relationships with other bloggers, and establishing yourself as a niche or industry thought-leader. Every time you publish a guest post on another blog, you can link within that post to your own blog, thus generating SEO juice and more traffic for your site.

It can be time-consuming to research blogs you want to guest post on, build a rapport with the blog owners, and write up the guest post. After all that effort you put in, what if your post gets rejected? Wouldn’t that stink? Here are some steps to take to ensure that your guest post doesn’t get rejected.

Transfer Feedburner Email Subscribers to AWeber

Up to late 2012, I would have recommended FeedBurner as an RSS tool. FeedBurner was a free RSS tool that let you collect email addresses and automatically send subscribers emails every time you would publish a blog post.

However, FeedBurner was purchased by Google in 2006, and in late 2012, Google shut down FeedBurner’s API. It is now said that FeedBurner will soon disappear completely. Before FeedBurner is gone for good, what should you do with all of your blog subscribers?
