Updated on February 7th, 2013 with the latest instructions!
On the new Facebook Timeline Fan Pages, tabs are now called app tabs, and are displayed as images above your page’s Timeline. In addition to being able to change the app tab image, you can also customize the name of an app tab (except for the standard Facebook apps, such as Photos or Notes). This is a great way to call attention to any reveal tabs or tabs containing promotions or offers.
Here’s a step-by-step tutorial on how to change the name of one of your custom app tabs.
First, go to your Facebook page and click Edit Page > Update Info.
Click Apps in the sidebar.
Scroll down the page until you see the application of the tab you’d like to change the image of. Then click Edit Settings.
Then you can change the name of your tab. Make sure that the text fits within the text field here, otherwise the text will get cut off on your fan page homepage. Once you edit the name, click Save. Then click Okay.
Now if you go back to your Facebook Fan Page, you’ll see the updated app tab name.
