Once you’ve created and optimized your Facebook page, you might be wondering how successful your page really is. The Facebook Insights dashboard will help you determine how successful your page is at generating likes, visits, clicks, and engagement. It will also help you gauge whether or not your content and engagement strategies are working.
To see your Facebook Insights dashboard, click on the settings icon at the top-right side of your page, and then select View Insights from the drop-down menu.

If you’ve ever tried to change your Facebook profile picture before, whether for your personal profile or fan page, you know how frustrating it can be. On top of Facebook’s technical glitches, which leave you wonder if you’re permanently stuck with that question mark of doom, the thumbnail never seems to look right.
On your personal profile thumbnail, you’re either a tiny speck in the distance or you’re showing off your left eyebrow. On your fan page, your brand’s logo is cut off. Here are some fan pages that still haven’t gotten it quite right:

As of March 2011, Facebook is discontinuing support of the Static FBML application, which allowed users to create custom content on their Facebook page tabs. Instead, Facebook is switching to iFrame tabs on Facebook fan pages. Although your old FBML tabs will not break, you won’t be able to create any new ones, so you’ll need to make the switch to iFrames at some point.
UPDATE 03/05/2012: As of March 30, 2012, Facebook will automatically update all fan pages to the new Timeline pages. This will not break any of this iFrame functionality. It will, however, take away the feature that allows you to set this iFrame tab as your default landing page for non-fans. Facebook released a huge update to Facebook pages yesterday that make pages act a lot more like profiles. This is a HUGE win for marketers, and here are the top reasons why:
- Facebook pages can now comment on other Facebook page walls
- You can now browse Facebook AS YOUR PAGE and get notifications when there is new fan activity on your page
- Facebook pages can now feature profiles at the top of the page
- Fans can more easily see which of their friends have liked your page
